Mediterranean Revival Styles

Mediterranean Revival Bungalows, 1920-1950

Spanish stylistic elements were incorporated in many suburban Dallas middle-class homes built between 1920 and 1950. Red tile roofs, round-topped windows, ornate wrought iron porch lights, and an occasional piece of cast stone ornament imparted a bit of romantic Mediterranean flavor to homes whose floorplans were substantially the same as their English Tudor and American Colonial neighbors.

This home has several stylistic elements commonly identified with Mediterranean Revival styles:
1) low-pitched roof with little soffit overhang,
2) round-topped windows,
3) cream-colored brick to simulate stucco.

The arched openings originally opened to a porch, but it has been enclosed.
